The transition of the WeWebU business model

Welcome to our new company website. Congratulations to our marketing team, this is an important milestone for WeWebU. Over the last 3 years we were able to do a successful transition of our business from a local German ECM Services company into an internationally operating Independent Software Vendor.

The former proprietary ECM world is changing rapidly and Cloud based applications as well as Open Source and Open Standards are major drivers of this evolution. WeWebU OpenWorkdesk is a new kind of standard product in ECM and these major market trends boost the value we deliver to our customers. This new website now reflects our current business as a product company much better than before and I hope you will like it. And please don’t hesitate to give us feedback especially if you don’t.

WeWebU is in business now for more than 10 years and we are definitely not a startup anymore. Over the last years we developed a superior piece of Enterprise software which is proven in many large projects und in daily use by thousands and thousands of users. Since years we accomplish a very good reputation within the global IBM ECM ecosystem and we got a lot of compliments by our customers and partners for our solid “German Engineering”. Nevertheless in the past it was quite challenging for us as a smaller software vendor operating out of Germany to get a bigger international awareness for our products.

But in 2010 we took two major decisions that changed everything: First of all we introduced a Commercial Open Source business model and proudly celebrated the Going Open Source of our core product with the launch of OpenWorkdesk Community Version in mid 2010. Secondly we recognized the CMIS standard as a disruptive technology in the ECM sector and we did a major investment to become an early adopter regarding CMIS-enabled business applications. The result of these strategic decisions only a few quarters later is a rapidly growing business that now gets a state-of-the-art company website.
